LOOKING BACK
Nashville based duo Calamity Jane continued to redefine genre with a fresh take on alternative country with the release of Looking Back. The new single is the follow-up to their recent smash Give It All Away and a string of successes including Devil Went Down To Georgia (#64 Music Row Charts, US), with subsequent tracks featured on glorified Spotify editorial playlists like “Wild Country,” “Fresh Finds,” “Next from Nashville,” “New Music Nashville,” and more. More recently, Calamity Jane has gone viral on TikTok with 2.2 million views on a video around abuse awareness, a platform the group is very passionate about. Their reach continues to grow outside of social media on radio, charting on Music Row in the States and billboard radio in Australia. They can also frequently be seen featured on networks like CMT, TCN, and dozens of others. Further accomplishments include opening for Maddie & Tae, Travis Denning, Easton Corbin, Joe Diffie, Keith Anderson, and more.
Featuring Lucy Cantley on fiddle and Camille Rae on vocals, Calamity Jane’s indelible brand of country, folk and pop is woven into a heart-wrenching elixir, revealing a narrative that sets the scenes of youth against a lush, sonic palette. Instantly hooky with a style of dynamic and genuine sensitivity we’ve come to expect from the band, Looking Back once again harnesses incomparable performances to create a rich, organic musical experience. Significant airplay and an ever increasing number of streams are assured with this new release, re-calibrating the trajectory of this singular, extraordinary band. Like its namesake, Calamity Jane shows incredible promise to challenge the status quo, and perhaps make a mark in history.
